On Friday we popped along to the opening night of Cornershop-by-the-Sea, an exhibition by Lucy Sparrow. This was an exhibition with a difference, the gallery was set-up exactly like a normal newsagents, except everything was made of felt! That’s 4000 felt items, all individually hand-sewn by the exhibits creator, Lucy. I was very excited to see this exhibition, as I had seen glowing reviews of Lucy’s London exhibition, so was thrilled to hear that the Cornershop would be coming to the seaside!
Even though I knew what to expect, seeing all the items in person was such a joyful experience. The attention to detail was amazing, and practically every piece had me squealing in delight at how realistic it looked to it’s ‘real’ counterpart!
I think my favourite items were the newspapers and magazines.
The exhibition is on until 25th October at No Walls Gallery, 114 Church Street, Brighton, BN1 1UD.

Until next time dear readers!
